Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer / Fabric Integration Specialist
Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week
Term: 6 months contract plus conversion to fulltime
Job Description (Key Responsibilities & Skills):
- Design and implement data ingestion
solutions in
Microsoft Fabric
, bringing in data from files (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.), databases, APIs, and external systems into OneLake. - Build and manage Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
using Fabric
Lakehouse
and
Warehouse
, ensuring proper data quality, transformation, and governance at each layer. - Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
using
Fabric Data Pipelines
,
Dataflows Gen2
, and
Notebooks
, with robust scheduling, monitoring, and error handling. - Write high-performance PySpark code
for data transformation, enrichment, deduplication, and aggregation on large datasets. - Strong SQL expertise
for querying, transforming, and optimizing data in
Fabric Warehouse
and Lakehouse SQL endpoints. - Implement data modeling and optimization techniques
, including partitioning, incremental loads, delta handling, and schema evolution. - Integrate Fabric with upstream and downstream systems
, including Azure SQL, Snowflake, REST APIs, and other enterprise data sources. - Ensure data reliability and observability
, implementing logging, validation checks, data reconciliation, and pipeline failure alerts. - Apply security and governance best practices
, including workspace design, role-based access control (RBAC), sensitivity labels, and cost-aware capacity usage. - Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
to translate data requirements into scalable Fabric solutions, while documenting pipelines, data models, and operational runbooks.
