Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer / Fabric Integration Specialist

Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week

Term: 6 months contract plus conversion to fulltime

Job Description (Key Responsibilities & Skills):

  1. Design and implement data ingestion
    solutions in
    Microsoft Fabric
    , bringing in data from files (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.), databases, APIs, and external systems into OneLake.
  2. Build and manage Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
    using Fabric
    Lakehouse
    and
    Warehouse
    , ensuring proper data quality, transformation, and governance at each layer.
  3. Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
    using
    Fabric Data Pipelines
    ,
    Dataflows Gen2
    , and
    Notebooks
    , with robust scheduling, monitoring, and error handling.
  4. Write high-performance PySpark code
    for data transformation, enrichment, deduplication, and aggregation on large datasets.
  5. Strong SQL expertise
    for querying, transforming, and optimizing data in
    Fabric Warehouse
    and Lakehouse SQL endpoints.
  6. Implement data modeling and optimization techniques
    , including partitioning, incremental loads, delta handling, and schema evolution.
  7. Integrate Fabric with upstream and downstream systems
    , including Azure SQL, Snowflake, REST APIs, and other enterprise data sources.
  8. Ensure data reliability and observability
    , implementing logging, validation checks, data reconciliation, and pipeline failure alerts.
  9. Apply security and governance best practices
    , including workspace design, role-based access control (RBAC), sensitivity labels, and cost-aware capacity usage.
  10. Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
    to translate data requirements into scalable Fabric solutions, while documenting pipelines, data models, and operational runbooks.
