Best Metals, an affiliate of John Ross & Sons Ltd. is currently looking to add to their team. Our Bottle Sorter will be working in a public setting with customer interactions ongoing throughout the shift; excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accurately count refundables brought in by customers (bottles, cans, etc.) and record them on counting slips.
• Calculate and pay customers for refundables based on counting slip totals.
• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic handling equipment.
• Pack, unpack, sort, crate, stock goods and materials and maintain organized inventory.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
• Sort through various types of metals/materials

Requirements:

• The ability to maintain and organize inventory is a priority.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• CSA-certified steel-toed footwear.

Physical Requirements/Working conditions:

• Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
• Must be able to do the following movements during extended periods of time: Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling.
• Must be able to work both inside the warehouse and outside in all weather conditions (including extreme cold, heat, and inclimate weather)
