Role Description

We are currently seeking a Cable Jetter to join our field operations team in a permanent position. This is a full-time on-site role operating out of Kitchener ON. The Cable Jetter will be responsible for operating specialized jetting equipment to install, pull, and clear cables in underground conduits, ensuring seamless and efficient network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with jetting technology, a strong safety orientation, and a passion for delivering high-quality results in the field.

This role requires a willingness to travel, work a minimum of 40 hours per week, and have a valid driver's license.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate cable jetting equipment to effectively pull and install cables through underground conduits, ensuring that the job is completed efficiently and according to project specifications
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately
• Safely operate and maintain cable jetting machinery, including troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance
• Work closely with other field technicians, engineers, and project managers to coordinate the installation process and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including job progress, issues encountered, and any necessary follow-up actions. Submit daily work reports as required
• Keep work sites clean and organized, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and that debris is cleared from the job site after each project
• Prepare and inspect conduits for cable installation, ensuring that they are clear of debris and other obstacles that could hinder cable movement
• Ensure that all cable installations meet company standards and industry regulations. Identify and resolve any issues with cable installations, ensuring that all work is up to specification and free from defects

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience operating cable jetting equipment or working in a similar role in the telecommunications industry. Experience with cable installation and underground conduit work is preferred
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying weather conditions. This role involves physical labor and working in outdoor environments
• Familiarity with cable jetting equipment and underground cable installation techniques. Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders
• Ability to identify problems in the field and work collaboratively with team members to resolve issues promptly
• A strong understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
