As experienced practice owners, we are eager to bring this essential service to the community. We are looking for a dedicated Practice Manager to join us in building this clinic from the ground up and shaping a positive, professional environment for our team and our neighbours. This is a unique opportunity for a proven leader with a strong financial background to launch, manage, and scale a veterinary hospital from the start.

We are seeking a manager with strong business acumen and the ability to turn ownership's goals into a reality. This role is for a builder—someone who thrives in a "from-scratch" environment and wants the challenge of establishing a new business in the community.

You will not be inheriting established systems. Instead, you will design, implement, and refine the operational and financial processes that define our daily work. We are looking for a leader who can adapt and guide a team through the early stages of growth, figuring out what works and setting the standard for the future.

    The ability to take ownership's goals and lead the team toward those outcomes by showing how they benefit the patients, the clients, and the staff.

    A focus on mentoring and influencing a high-performing team. You guide others toward results that are mutually beneficial for the hospital and the individuals who work here.

Requirements and Core Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced operating manager with management experience in a medical-related field (e.g., veterinary, dental, optometry, medical clinics, etc.).

Business Management:

  • Operational Results:
    Responsibility for the hospital's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Growth:
    Identifying and tracking metrics that ensure we are providing excellent care while maintaining a healthy, growing business.
  • Resource Management:
    Oversight of ordering and vendor relations to ensure the team is well-equipped.

People and Process Leadership:

  • Team Development:
    Managing the full employee lifecycle—hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development—with a focus on retention and morale.
  • System Design:
    Creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) that make daily work efficient and clear for everyone.
  • Hands-On Engagement:
    To truly understand our systems and client experience, you will work at reception approximately two days per week initially. This allows you to evaluate and improve our processes from the front lines.

Compensation and Performance Rewards

Our compensation model is designed for a leader who treats the business as their own. We offer a structured incentive program that scales alongside the hospital's growth and profitability.

  • Starting Base Salary:
    $65,000
  • Year 1–2 Earnings Potential (OTE):
    Up to $90,000 based on achieving growth and efficiency milestones.
  • Year 3 Earnings Potential (OTE):
    Up to $100,000 based on sustained scale and EBITDA targets.
  • Long-term Upside:
    Once established, the role transitions to a higher base salary of $75,000 plus a generous profit-sharing model.

Building a hospital from the ground up requires clear communication and technical resourcefulness. Our Process

  1. Application Review:
    We will evaluate resumes and video submissions for technical competence and alignment with our hospital's goals.
  2. Initial Zoom Screen:
    Selected candidates will be invited to a brief 30-minute introductory call.
  3. Financial & Operational Interview:
    A deep-dive session focused on your experience with P&L management, KPIs, and team leadership.
  4. In-Practice Session:
    Finalists will be invited to the practice to discuss workflow, systems, and hospital culture in person.
  5. Target Start Date: June 2026
