Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an
Intermediate Structural Engineer
to join our Kelowna team.
You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and excel at delivering high-quality structural design work. Allnorth will rely on you to plan, coordinate, and execute structural projects while mentoring junior team members and representing Allnorth with clients.
Success in this role looks like high-quality technical output, strong project leadership, and building trusted relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
A Day in the Life
- Lead preliminary and detailed design for heavy industrial structures, including concrete foundations, steel structures, and bridges.
- Oversee structural analysis, calculations, estimates, design reviews, proposal inputs, and technical reporting.
- Provide technical guidance to EITs and designers, ensuring high-quality drawing packages and specifications.
- Conduct structural assessments and inspections, delivering clear and actionable findings.
- Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify requirements and align expectations.
- Develop work plans that outline schedule, milestones, risk factors, and quality controls.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and scope — proactively resolving issues before they escalate.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC.
- 7+ years of structural engineering and project management experience.
- Strong familiarity with CSA Standards, National Building Code, and BC Building Code.
- Experience with structural design software such as RISA 3D, S-Frame, and S-Concrete.
- Proven ability to prepare technical reports, correspondence, and proposals with strong written clarity.
- Effective communicator with strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while mentoring junior engineers and designers.
- Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
What's in it for you?
We believe that a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results, which is why we offer a range of perks designed to support your well-being, career growth and community engagement.
- Work schedule and location are flexible, allowing for better work-life balance
- Comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage, and RRSP contribution matching
- Employee Assistance Program for team members and their families
- A culture of respect and inclusivity fosters long term relationships and a team atmosphere
- Professional development and growth opportunities (e.g. New and Young Worker Mentorship program)
- Team Member Referral Program
- A paid "Volunteer Day" away from work to support the community
- Monthly "Lunch & Learn" sessions
- Opportunities to bond with other team members, have fun and make a difference through involvement in social and safety committees, as well as fundraising and community support initiatives (e.g. Movember, Pi Day, Food Banks, Women's Shelters, Ronald McDonald House, Earth Day clean-ups, etc.)
WE TAKE CARE OF YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS
In joining us you'll face rewarding, career-developing challenges that enable you to contribute to our clients' successes, and despite how much we grow, you'll never be just a number, but rather a vital member of the Allnorth Team.
Engage with us at Allnorth and be empowered to enrich people's lives, including your own.
