Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager, the
Production Supervisor
is responsible for providing leadership and direction to his/her shift team involved in the manufacturing of fibreglass insulation to the Company's safety, quality and production standards while being consistent with CertainTeed Insulation and Saint-Gobain Canada's values and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a unionized team of 10–20 operators and 2 craftsmen per shift.
  • Ensure safety compliance through audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Execute production plans and coordinate shift activities to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain quality control, ensuring all testing meets required standards.
  • Chair and deliver team briefings on safety and operational topics; organize and lead daily production meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with other shift managers and overall management; provide accurate end-of-shift reports.
  • Manage HR responsibilities, including performance feedback, training needs, and union relations.
  • Delegate tasks with clear expectations and timelines; coach and mentor team members.
  • Troubleshoot issues using Continuous Improvement tools and collaborate with Performance Teams.
  • Validate working hours, schedule overtime, and complete production reports in SAP/MES/Excel; monitor housekeeping standards and enforce safety guidelines.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Requirements

  • A College Diploma in a technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in a supervising/managing capacity.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, coaching and communication skills
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
  • Working knowledge and experience of 5S and Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience working within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Words, Excel, PowerPoint experience with SAP an asset.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts as well as weekends when required

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts including week ends in a 24/7 working environment
  • Able to be on your feet for extended periods, climb stair
