Paving Foreman

Northern Blacktop is seeking an experienced Paving Foreman with strong mechanical aptitude to lead our asphalt paving operations. This full-time position offers competitive wages, overtime potential, and an extended working season (Year-Round), providing greater stability than most positions in the paving industry with no snow removal.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise crews on municipal and commercial paving projects
• Provide on-site mechanical troubleshooting for paving equipment and support preventative maintenance
• Operate and oversee equipment such as pavers, screeds, rollers, skid steers, and related tools
• Ensure grade control, material installation, and asphalt finish meet project specifications
• Conduct daily equipment inspections, monitor performance, and escalate issues as needed
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to maintain production and scheduling targets
• Promote and enforce safety standards across the crew and jobsite

Qualifications

• Proven asphalt paving experience with prior foreman or lead hand responsibility
• Strong mechanical aptitude — ability to diagnose issues, support repairs, and understand equipment behavior
• Solid knowledge of paving and compaction practices, grade requirements, and quality control
• Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
• Able to work outdoors, with overtime and some weekend work when required
