About the role
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic
Community & Events Specialist
to join our team
This role is based out of Vancouver Pacific Centre DAVIDsTEA location and is ideal for someone who loves connecting with people, is highly organized, and has a strong interest in building partnerships. The position combines event planning, community engagement and business development through outreach.

Key Responsibilities
- Propose strategies to build and establish brand awareness to drive traffic and sales to DAVIDsTEA; through events, connection and relationship building with social media influencers and leaders of the tea community in Vancouver, reach out to partners for co-branded partnerships and community involvement with our retail stores as a community base for these experiences;
- Seek out and establish relationships with brand partners to execute successful events as well as follow up with our existing partner base
- Reach out on behalf of Montreal-based sales team with coordination, relationships, outreach, on-site presentations in stores or at their premise.
- Engage the local business, retail, social and cultural community for future partner or ambassador opportunities;
- Plan, organize, and execute in-person presentations or events to promote the brand.
- Coordinate with local organizations, businesses, and venues for event opportunities.
- Host networking, ambassador and customer events in-store
- Manage event logistics including scheduling, marketing, supplies, and on-site execution with support of Marketing, Sales and Product teams in Montreal, as well as regional Store Operation teams
- Participate in analysis and de-brief of success or opportunities on a weekly basis and help track and monitor the performance of activations in market;
- Consistently demonstrate product knowledge and effective selling skills for the DAVIDsTEA experience;
- Be fully trained as Tea Guide by local store manager to be able to support serve customers in store and work in stores as needed.
- Act as the DAVIDsTEA PR representative providing public relations functions as required (I.e. Interviews, site visits).
- Collaborate with marketing and retail teams to align outreach efforts with overall brand strategy.
- Research and identify potential wholesale and brand clients (corporate partners, boutiques, retailers, gyms, hotels, spas etc.).
- Conduct out reach out as needed to build new wholesale relationships and maintain existing accounts.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations, pitches, follow-up communications and be in close communication with sales team in Montreal to follow up as needed and develop a positive sales relationship leading to sales.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study;
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop appropriate action plans;
- Excellent written, verbal communication and facilitation skills, conveying the spirit and passion of DAVIDsTEA;
- Self-starter who is able to manage and coordinate projects and initiatives from start to finish;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the organization;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter with initiative and creativity in approaching opportunities.
- Relevant work experience in event field marketing and or sales
- Experience in working in retail or the beverage industry
- Experience in event planning, sales, or community engagement (retail or consumer goods industry preferred).
- Passion and enthusiasm for events and people;
- Must possess a "can do" attitude;
- Must be able to travel;
- Comfortable with working evenings/weekends for events as needed
- Roughly 80% of time will be spent in the community or with clients and potential clients, at events and 20% in store.
- There will be limited administrative expectations, mostly communicating via phone and Teams with partners at our Store Support Office in Montreal. If more administrative time is required, local co-working space can be used within proximity of store locations.
