Live-in Caregiver

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Live-In Caregiver to provide attentive and nurturing care
for two minor children. This position is for a 2-year term, offering a live-in arrangement with
comfortable accommodations in a supportive family environment. The caregiver will play a vital
role in ensuring the children's safety, well-being, and educational development.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with the children in daily activities, including playtime, creative projects,
and educational tasks.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with morning and bedtime routines, including bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Oversee and assist with school assignments, homework, and study sessions.
- Encourage and foster a positive learning environment.
- Liaise with parents and teachers to monitor academic progress and address any concerns.
- Plan and prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks.
- Accommodate dietary preferences and nutritional needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including light housekeeping and laundry related
to the children.
- Manage daily schedules, including school drop-offs, pick-ups, and extracurricular activities (if
applicable).
- Provide a nurturing and positive atmosphere for the children's emotional growth.
- Actively listen to the children's needs and support their social development.
Live-In Arrangement and Accommodations:
- Private furnished room;
- Utilities, Wi-Fi, and meals included; and
- A safe and welcoming home environment conducive to personal comfort and professional
fulfillment.
Work Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or evening shifts.
- Flexibility for occasional overnight care during parent absences is preferred.
- Scheduled breaks and personal time are provided.
Work Conditions:
We are a private household who understand and will adhere to all work conditions. We will
comply with all federal and provincial labor laws, including the Employment Standards Act of
Ontario. This includes but not limited to, adherence to minimum wage, overtime pay, and
termination policies, providing a safe, healthy, and respectful work environment and compliance
with workplace safety standards and fair treatment policies. This will be reflective in our
employment agreement/job offer.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in caregiving or a similar role.
- Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Proficient in English and Arabic(s), both written and spoken.

- Ability to assist with academic subjects and support learning activities, preferably in maths.
- A valid and up-to-date police report must be readily available as part of the hiring process.
- Caregiver must be patient, organized, creative, and adaptable.
