Who we are

Base31 is Prince Edward County's hottest new cultural destination, located on the site of a former 70-acre WWII air training base just outside of Picton, Ont. We purchased this land in 2021with an ambitious revitalization plan that has since seen the adaptive re-use of many of the heritage buildings, transformation of the landscape, and significant investment in placemaking, public art, programming, including our exciting food & beverage programs which are highlighted on our Bar and Service space.

We are also a hot spot for concerts, festivals and events that range from major concerts entertaining over 3000 people, large-scale immersive art experiences, outdoor experiences, art exhibitions, tours, community camps, classes and we are proud to say amazing culinary and drink experiences.

Year over year we continue to continue to grow and expand our offerings and develop our presence in the community. This includes hiring a Head Bartender to support us through this high season with passion and excitement at our venues for Bar and Bar management, creating a memorable experience for our customers and employees.

What we are offering

16-week Contract to start on May 1, 2026, and run until August 31, 2026.

Opportunity to work at our beautiful and exciting workplace located at Base31, Picton, Ontario, featuring both indoor and outdoor bar and culinary sites.

Hours of work will range between hours per week, worked over events, weekends, some evenings, as this role will follow our visitor presence during the high season.

Wage $24 per hour

Who you are

You are passionate about customer service, friendly and professional with a deep understanding of how this role supports the overarching success of our F&B space.

You have experience in this role, or roles similar, that lead teams and provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You are able to handle all elements of people management, including diffusing situations, problem solving, decision making and general leadership and manage a team of seasonal bartenders in full end to end people management.

You are comfortable preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the established menu, recipes and procedures.

You are friendly, flexible, and provide customers with recommendations based on pairings, preferences, and overarching business strategies.

You handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently with a digital point of sale system and can support training and troubleshooting with these systems.

You have a firm understanding of Health and Safety, Fire regulations, and feel comfortable in holding others and yourself accountable to our policies and procedures.

You lead and follow all hygiene practices, and food handling practices.

You collaborate cross functionally with Operations to ensure that each venue is equipped appropriately for operation, and conduct regular inspections to guarantee proper maintenance of facilities including electrical, water, and other infrastructure.

You have a pulse on the business and support product management, including assistance with inventory and receiving procedures.

Work closely with vendors to ensure they have all the necessary resources and facilities to operate effectively.

You work collaboratively with others.

Keeping busy in a fast-paced environment excites you.

You are of legal drinking age.

You have a smart serve certificate.
