Project Manager – N60 Monitoring
Multiple Locations & Project Sites
Reports to: Operations Manager N60 Monitoring
Department: North of 60 (N60) Monitoring

At KBL, we do things differently. As Western Canada's largest environmental waste management company—born in the North and built on resilience—we've grown by trusting our people, keeping them safe and backing bold ideas. We're proud to be recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies

We're looking for an Environmental Project Manager to take the lead on a mix of office and field-based environmental projects. In this role, you'll manage project budgets and schedules, work closely with clients and regulators, support field crews, and help keep projects running smoothly and safely from start to finish. You'll also play a key part in bidding new work, building cost estimates, and mentoring team members as the business grows.

What You'll Do

  • Manage environmental projects from planning through completion, including budgets, schedules, reporting, and overall project performance
  • Coordinate with clients, regulators, internal teams, subcontractors, and field crews to meet project and compliance requirements
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, work plans, and proposals for new and existing project opportunities
  • Oversee field activities, site safety, sampling programs, and compliance monitoring to ensure work is completed safely and to regulatory standards
  • Lead, support, and mentor field staff through training, task delegation, and ongoing project communication

Who You Are

  • You have a university degree or college diploma in Environmental Sciences or a related field, with hands-on experience in environmental site assessment, remediation, and sampling (soil, water, air).
  • You're comfortable working independently, solving problems in the field, and adapting to changing project needs while keeping timelines and budgets on track.
  • You're a strong communicator who can work effectively with clients, regulators, First Nations, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Professional designations (P.Ag, RT.Ag, CET, PMP, EP) are considered an asset but not required.

What You Need

  • Ability to perform physically demanding field work, including lifting up to 100 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in challenging outdoor conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to multiple project sites across the North, including remote locations
  • Willingness to work both in the office and in the field, with exposure to weather, dust, noise, mud, water, and other site conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to remote project locations.
  • First Aid and WHMIS/TDG certifications (or willingness to complete training provided by KBL).

We're committed to providing a safe, supportive work environment. Reasonable accommodations are available to those who qualify.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Trust & Empowerment: Empowered culture with minimal bureaucracy- just real responsibility, ownership, and the flexibility to do your best work
  • Growth & Agility: We're entrepreneurial by nature—quick to adapt and deeply invested in your development
  • Care & Commitment: From top-tier benefits (including $3,000 annually for psychological support) to a focus on safety and wellness, we put our people first
  • Meaningful Impact: Your work helps build safer, cleaner communities across Canada and that's something to be proud of

Why You'll Love Our Perks

  • Competitive wage, allowances and above-market benefits
  • RRSP matching, Health Care Spending Account, Wellness account, and flexible work options where feasible
  • Paid training and development opportunities, Manager training program, formal Employee Recognition program

We're Proud of Where We Come From—and Where We're Going

Founded in the North in 2006 and led by an EY Entrepreneur of the Year, KBL continues to grow with purpose and agility. We share our success with our people and invest in their well-being every step of the way.

KBL is committed to diversity and inclusion. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process. Please notify us if you require any.
