About this role:
As an Apprentice Funeral Director at Avalon Surrey Funeral Home located in Surrey, British Columbia, you will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end-of-life journey. You will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services under the direction of the Funeral Home Manager and Senior Funeral Director, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:
- Currently enrolled or seeking enrollment in a post-secondary funeral service education.
- Passion for customer care demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
- Exemplifies Arbor's values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
- Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract.
Responsibilities:
- Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
- Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
- Supports licensed Funeral Directors in providing funeral services to client families.
- Other duties may be assigned.
