Sales Agronomist

Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Agronomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of crop science, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. This role involves providing expert advice to farmers and agricultural clients, conducting research, and developing innovative solutions to improve crop yields and environmental sustainability. The Agronomist will play a vital role in supporting agricultural productivity through scientific analysis and practical recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Visit producers on their farms and identify their agricultural needs specific to agronomy and crop production, contributing to increased sales volumes and overall territory market expansion.
- Provide agronomic advice, services and recommendation of crop input products/fertilizers.
- Present ATG product and services to groups and individual growers.
- Schedule appointments, individual grower meetings, trade shows and group meetings.
- Develop opportunities to present ASLE research and on farm data with customers.
- Actively search for new opportunities that will enhance or expand ATG's market presence and sales in the territory.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in agronomy science.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Science, Plant Science, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience or internship in fertilizer sales is required.
- Strong knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, pest management, and sustainable farming practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of applied agronomy/crop input/soil sampling/crop advisory experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern farm practices and industry regulations.
- Experience in GIS, farm data platforms and Ag technology would be an asset.
- Proven ability to work independently, showing effective time management, planning, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- The Certified Crop Advisor designation would be considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills with a positive attitude.
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately.
- Effective communication skills for working with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license preferred for site visits and fieldwork.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,500.00-$60,000.00 per year
