Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager, Construction & Maintenance to oversee the development and maintenance of our distinctive hospitality property in Joe Batt's Arm, NL. Based in Canada, this role is vital in ensuring our projects align with our mission of sustainability and cultural integrity while delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Construction, Facilities Systems and Special Projects.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Plan, organize and direct construction/maintenance projects from start to finish
- Develop comprehensive construction/maintenance schedules and milestones in collaboration with organizational management
- Monitor progress against established schedules and implement corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate with engineers, architects and trades to ensure efficient workflow of construction/maintenance projects
Budget & Contract Management
- Create and adhere to construction/maintenance budgets for labour, material, and vendor/contractor activity
- Manage contracts and site visits with vendors and contractors, documenting all work performed
- Process and manage change orders and change directives, ensuring proper authorization and documentation
- Monitor project expenditures and provide regular budget variance reports
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all project information including contracts, shop drawings, schedules, payment schedules, and change orders are documented effectively and stored for permanent access
- Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure products and materials used on projects adhere to approved guidelines
- Ensure all permits are in place and all work meets the NBCC guidelines
- Submit regular progress reports to senior management on the status of all ongoing projects
Technology & Systems
- Utilize computerized programs and systems, including word processing, email, maintenance management software, and project management tools
- Training and/or familiarity with Building Automation Software an asset
Safety & Collaboration
- Enforce and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures, participate in training as required
- Work in a collaborative and positive manner with all members of the organization
- Demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving skills to develop solutions to issues that occur during project duration
- Other duties as required
Skills and Experience
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Engineering or Technologist degree/diploma
- Construction/Project Management diploma or equivalent experience
Highly Preferred:
- PMP, CAPM, or Gold Seal Certification
- COR (Certificate of Recognition) or equivalent safety certification
- Red Seal certification or equivalent experience in any trade
- Knowledge of Newfoundland & Labrador codes and regulations
Experience
- Minimum of five years experience managing construction and/or maintenance projects
- Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
- Experience working in Newfoundland and Labrador or familiarity with provincial regulations considered an asset
Technical Requirements
- Valid Canadian driver's license is an essential requirement
- Training and/or familiarity with Building Automation Software an asset
- Knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador Building Accessibility Act and provincial building codes an asset

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
