Position Summary

Are you a skilled plumber looking to expand your career beyond the field? Velocity Mechanical is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced tradesperson to transition into a Plumbing/Mechanical Estimator role. We're seeking a licensed plumber with a broad range of experience in commercial plumbing projects who is ready to grow into a strategic, office-based position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of project documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
  • Assist in performing quantity take-offs and pricing for labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to understand estimating processes.
  • Participate in supplier and subcontractor communications to gather pricing and clarify scope.
  • Support the preparation of bids and proposals under guidance.
  • Help maintain organized documentation and cost databases.
  • Attend site visits and coordination meetings to gain project insight.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and process improvement discussions.

Why You're a Great Fit

  • Licensed Plumber with minimum 8 years of experience.
  • Must have a broad range of experience in commercial plumbing, including heating systems.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, drawings, codes, and specifications.
  • Experience and knowledge of computer use (e.g., MS office 365).
  • Highly motivated to learn and grow into an office-based estimating role.
  • Organized, and eager to grow professionally.
  • Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, is dependable and punctual, collaborates effectively with others, and maintains a keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Participation in team meetings and cross-departmental initiatives.
