Position Title; Cyber Security Specialist

Physical Presence: Hybrid - 2 days per week in office

Rate: 35-45 INC

Description;

This role is pivotal to PEO's digital transformation as we continue to strengthen and evolve

our technology landscape.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our cybersecurity operations and strategic

initiatives. This role will focus on threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management,

security process development, governance, and cybersecurity awareness activities.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the security team to support the cybersecurity roadmap,

investigate issues and implement remediations as well as deliver operational security

improvements.

Responsibilities

• Cyber Operations & Incident Response

o Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, alerts, and threats.

o Conduct threat intelligence analysis to identify risks relevant to the organization.

o Support incident triage, forensic analysis, and post-incident reviews.

• Vulnerability & Risk Management

o Perform vulnerability assessments, track remediation progress, and support patch

management.

o Work with IT teams to implement security fixes and risk mitigations.

o Assist in risk assessments for systems, applications, and third-party vendors.

• Cybersecurity Roadmap & Remediation Support

o Contribute to the execution of key cybersecurity roadmap items.

o Support security control implementations and compliance improvements.

o Assist in remediation activities related to audit findings, security gaps, and risk

assessments.

• Cyber Awareness & Simulations

o Develop and execute cybersecurity awareness campaigns and phishing

simulations.

o Provide training sessions and security best practices guidance to employees.

o Support security culture initiatives to enhance overall awareness.

• Security Process Development & Governance

o Document and improve security processes, incident response procedures, and

playbooks.

o Assist in policy and procedure development aligned with regulatory standards.

o Support compliance efforts related to NIST framework.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat

intelligence.

• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Knowledge of cyber threat landscapes, attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK), and security

frameworks.

• Experience supporting remediation efforts, compliance initiatives, and security awareness

programs.

• Strong analytical skills for investigating and mitigating security incidents.
• Certifications such as Security+, CEH, GCIH, CISSP, or Azure Security (preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft Security Stack (Defender, Sentinel, Intune). (preferred)
• Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) processes. (preferred)
• Understanding of Zero Trust, network segmentation, and identity security models.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is

preferred.

Working Conditions

• Minimal exposure to unavoidable hazardous or disagreeable environmental conditions

associated with a professional position within an office environment.

• Sitting for extended periods
• May be required to work occasional evening/weekend hours.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
