Overview

The Senior Operations Manager is a key operational and analytical partner within QVS Strategic Operations. This role will support effective portfolio performance and enable technology and business leaders to make faster, higher-impact decisions by providing the structure, insights, and transparency needed to manage complex investments with confidence.

Working at the intersection of technology strategy, business operations, and value realization, the Sr. Operations Manager brings clarity to where and how QVS invests—linking spend, outcomes, and adoption to measurable business value. They co-lead the portfolio's operating rhythm alongside the Director of Strategic Portfolio Operations, ensuring every review, investment, and decision is grounded in data, foresight, and aligned intent.

This position blends technical fluency, portfolio analytics, and strategic execution. It's ideal for candidates with experience in technology operations, product or engineering portfolios, and business analytics; professionals who thrive on turning data and complexity into clear, actionable insights that accelerate progress and maximize the impact of QVS's technology investments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Operations Rhythm & Governance: Lead the Management Operating System (MOS) for QVS investments, ensuring portfolio reviews, planning cycles, and reporting deliver timely, actionable insights that enable leadership decisions. Drive structure, accountability, and predictability across all portfolio activities.
  • Framework Integration & Optimization: Drive adoption and continuous improvement of the Portfolio, Program, and Investment Frameworks, ensuring consistency, effective, and efficient information flow across QVS and partner teams. Support onboarding, education, and adoption to enable effective decision readiness.
  • Value Realization & Portfolio Performance: Define and maintain mechanisms that connect outputs to measurable business outcomes. Track progress, efficiency, and realized value across enterprise programs and investments, ensuring leaders have visibility into where impact is being delivered and where adjustments are needed.
  • Strategic Insights & Communication: Develop and deliver concise, compelling narratives and visualizations that help executives and business leaders understand impact, trade-offs, and priorities, ensuring focus on the areas of highest strategic value.
  • Investment Decision Enablement: Partner with technology, finance, and operational leaders to analyze trade-offs, risks, and value scenarios—ensuring portfolio priorities balance engineering feasibility, strategic impact, and measurable business value.
  • Continuous Improvement & Tooling: Contribute to improvements to portfolio and strategic planning processes, reporting systems, and tooling to streamline operations and increase automation.
Core Job Requirements
  • 5–10 years of experience in operations, portfolio, or business analysis within a technology-focused organization.
  • Proven ability to analyze technology investments, connecting data and outcomes to business value.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Coda, or advanced Excel.
  • Familiarity with engineering and product development workflows (e.g., sprints, capacity, release planning).
  • Skilled at leading operational rhythms and governance processes that drive accountability and decision readiness.
  • Exceptional communication and synthesis skills—able to translate complex data into clear insights for senior leaders.
  • Highly collaborative and organized, comfortable working across technology, finance, and business teams.
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$130,800 - $183,000 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
