Vancouver BC VL K, Canada B & D AUTO BODY AND GLASS Full time $45,000 - $60,000 per year

Over view: Appraises vehicle damage to determine cost of repair for insurance claim settlement.

  • Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
  • Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
  • Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
  • Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders and doors.
  • Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss.
  • Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Inspect vehicles for damages and evaluate using visual inspection, mechanical testing devices, road tests and information provided by the customer
  • Evaluate necessity and cost of repairs
  • Collect insurance estimates after reviewing damage
  • Meet with customers to discuss damages, repair process and timeline and costs
  • Create accurate estimates that detail repair and labor costs
  • Place work orders detailing part replacements and repairs and enter into work management system
  • Maintain communication with customer and be available to answer questions throughout the repair process
  • Keep record of repair details and complete necessary paperwork
  • Effectively manage multiple repairs simultaneously
  • Implement an effective quality check process by inspecting repaired vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard
  • Complete final paperwork and payment with customer
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times and create ongoing relationships with customers
  • A valid driver's License

Schedule:

  • 9 hour shift with lunch
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • 1-3+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with estimating systems (Mitchell, Audatex)
  • Familiarity with various insurance direct repair guidelines
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Time Efficiency is a must
  • Reliable work history
  • Junior estimator welcome

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
