Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking a Structural Designer to work out of our customer's downtown Calgary office. The Structural Designer is responsible for detailed structural design development and providing design support throughout all project phases, including procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and final handover. This is a 12–18 month minimum term role, (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day).

Key Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Structural Designer or in a design-focused structural role
  • Experience designing industrial buildings, including:
    • Reinforced concrete structures
    • Structural steel systems
  • Proficient in Smart 3D (S3D) for structural design and modeling
  • Experience preparing structural drawings, models, and documentation for construction
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams


Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Perform detailed structural design activities to produce high-quality, constructible design packages.
  • Develop and maintain structural deliverables, including 3D models, drawings, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure design criteria and constructability requirements are fully addressed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project scope, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure structural designs are constructible in the field with minimal revisions.
  • Support cost estimate development and project scheduling activities.
  • Comply with the Project Quality Management System and applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage design scope and support formal change management processes when required.
  • Ensure structural design deliverables align with safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.


Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Structural Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • P.Eng. designation not required
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant structural design experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
