Summary

Hamilton Kent is seeking a Fabrication Operator – Splicer/Dipper to join our morning shift team. In this role, you will play a key part in producing high-quality gaskets used in critical infrastructure projects. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help ensure reliable products that make a difference in communities.

Splicing involves using heated molds to join the ends of pre-cut rubber strips to form circular gaskets.

Location: 77 Carlingview Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 5E6

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 3:00pm

Starting Salary: $24.24/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area before starting tasks

  • Ensure mold temperature is correctly set before splicing

  • Prepare strips for splicing (dipping, sanding, heating, cleaning ends)

  • Verify rubber strips for straight cuts and clean ends

  • Load tape roll into machine and check quality

  • Operate mold and monitor curing process

  • Inspect gaskets for defects (cracks, lumps, pinholes)

  • Inject silicone and check for leaks

  • Record production data accurately

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Willingness to learn and operate measuring tools (training provided)

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
