JOB SUMMARY:

The Program and Fitness Manager, under the direction of the Assistant General Manager and General Manager of Seven Chiefs Sportsplex, will oversee all program operations at the facility. This includes managing the program department's budget and financial reporting, developing and implementing programming opportunities for both the Tsuut'ina Nation community and the public, overseeing special events, and leading marketing initiatives. A key priority is enhancing fitness and wellness accessibility for the Tsuut'ina Nation. The role also involves significant personnel management, including hiring, training, and supervising fitness and program staff and contractors, and ensuring all health and safety procedures are implemented.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Financial Management – oversee program department budget and financial reporting. Assess program costs (break-even vs. profit) and viability. Track expenses, revenue, and manage inventory.
• Program Development and Management – develop and manage Nation and Public programming and special events. Oversee the 7 Chief Champions Athlete Development Pathway program. Establish and manage the program registration system. Coordinate facility space (Sportsplex and Jim Starlight Centre) use. Prioritize Tsuut'ina Nation community fitness and wellness accessibility. Liaise with TTN departments for funding and program collaboration. Collaborate with sport and fitness experts.
• Personnel Management – assess staffing needs for program and Fitness Centre personnel (leaders, front desk, etc.) Develop and execute recruitment plans, including qualifications, posting, interviewing, and contracting. Hire, train, manage, and supervise all program and Fitness Centre staff and contractors. Onboard staff and volunteers following 7CSP policy. Conduct seasonal performance reviews. Manage staff scheduling, payroll, timesheets, and absences to ensure program integrity and safety. Handle all staff contracts and payments.
• Marketing and Sales – create marketing plans for membership drives, fitness, and Sportsplex programs. Conduct market research to determine program viability based on venue availability and local interest. Create annual SWOT analyses and research competitors. Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials (in-venue posters, digital signage, direct emails, newsletter, flyers, social media, advertisements, curb signs).
• Health and Safety – implement and update all Health & Safety procedures (including Inunison). Develop Emergency Action Plans for all programs (on-site/off-site). Train staff on 7CSP H&S policies and procedures. Actively participate in risk assessment and corrective action. Oversee fitness client intake and orientation for safe equipment use. Track staff qualifications (First Aid, etc.) and upload to Inunison. Report and investigate all incidents or near misses.
• Administration and Collaboration – manage Fitness Centre maintenance and supply ordering. Attend staff training (in-service and mentorship) and weekly meetings. Collaborate with management team (Building Operations, Sales, Accounts Payable, Assistant GM, GM). Participate in monthly Nation meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Desired Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

o Degree in Recreation Management or a similar field.

o First Aid and CPR Certification.

o Safe Sport Certified.

o Five (5) years of program leader experience.

o Experience in marketing, and program management.

o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel).

• Personal Attributes:

o Ability to work in a fast-paced, high demanding environment and manage crisis situations calmly and resourcefully.

o Strong skills in time, organizational, event, personnel, and financial management.

• General Employment Requirements:

o A Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

o Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check.

o Oath of Confidentiality.
