has an immediate opening in our Red Deer office for a
Financial Accountant
. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our team. Berry Architecture is a mid-size Canadian firm – with offices in Red Deer, Kelowna and Cranbrook – focused on progressive design developments across a wide range of project typologies.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting internal and external deadlines. This role is key to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the financial health of our company.

Primary Responsibilities and Goals

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records;
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes;
  • Perform bank reconciliations and verify transaction accuracy;
  • Calculate and file GST returns;
  • Prepare journal entries;
  • Process payroll, remit payroll related taxes, and complete annual T4 related filings;
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online for efficient record keeping;
  • Collaborate with management to provide financial insights;
  • Work efficiently within required timelines;
  • Demonstrate initiative and independent problem-solving skills;
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors;
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience Required

  • Proficient with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices;
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Exposure to BQE Core would be an asset;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
