Medical Administrator/Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional front desk support and ensuring smooth administrative operations within our medical or dental office. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining efficient patient flow, managing appointments, and supporting clinical staff.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Collect insurance information and process patient payments accurately
- Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow and appointment scheduling
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Handle front desk responsibilities efficiently to support overall office operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Receptionist, with knowledge of dental or medical terminology
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Strong office experience, including managing multi-line phone systems and front desk duties
- Familiarity with medical or dental office procedures and administrative workflows
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Prior experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Professional appearance and courteous demeanor essential for representing the practice effectively
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.61-$23.88 per hour
