Company Overview:

Our client is rapidly growing manufacturing company located in Richmond Hill, ON are seeking experienced and qualified Die Cut Operators to join the team on the afternoon or night shift. They supportive work environment and long-term growth opportunities.

Position Overview:

As a Die Cut Operator, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of sheet-fed die cutting equipment (Brausse or Bobst 106) to ensure accurate production according to customer specifications. You will be expected to maintain high-quality standards, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up sheet-fed die cutting machines based on production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality, making adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and customer specifications.
  • Maintain an understanding of die cutting processes including cut, crease, and perforation rules.
  • Complete make-ready processes within standard timeframes, ensuring equipment and tooling protection.
  • Configure and validate matrices and counters for each job.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of die construction, nicking patterns, rubbering techniques, and rubber materials.
  • Identify and troubleshoot common mechanical or quality-related issues.
  • Follow all safety and operational procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, including Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and SafeStart practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience operating sheet-fed die cutting machines; folding carton experience is an asset.
  • Experience with blanking operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety documentation, work orders, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and visual instructions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" accuracy and perform basic math.
  • Physically able to lift/push/pull over 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, or kneel for the duration of the shift.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
