What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC's team, the Sr. Test Lead, Business Analytics will be responsible for providing analytical support such as analyzing trends and evaluating strategies to facilitate sound business decisions, along with regular support on data mining, reporting and strategic analytics. The role applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to analyze data to support the design, implementation and evaluation of new segmentation strategies, monitor strategy performance, and recommend improvements based on results of the analysis. The Sr. Test Lead, Business Analytics exercises independent judgement within defined procedures, documenting accurate business requirements that clearly represent the client's business needs. Working with limited direction, the role independently designs and performs moderate to complex statistical analyses using advanced analytical techniques and data mining tools.

How you'll succeed

  • Business Effectiveness - Develop and implement comprehensive UAT strategies and test plans for complex, high-impact projects. Lead the planning, design, and execution of UAT test cases to ensure solution quality and alignment with business requirements. Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, IT teams, and project management during UAT phases.

  • UAT Leadership - Facilitate and manage UAT meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and defect triage calls. Track, manage, and report on UAT progress, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution of defects and blockers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless end-to-end testing and successful project delivery. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Thinking Approach – Drive, manage and execute data and reporting projects and initiatives in alignment with CIBC Strategy while supporting the business goals, objectives and key performance indicators. Ability to think strategically about how to plan multiple testing initiatives at the same time and assess conflicts.

  • Relationship Management.  Build internal and external relationships as required to help ensure we are providing the right level of service to our leadership team and business partners. 

  • Communication -  Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, processes to others with different disciplinary backgrounds. Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.

  • Reporting - Track progress and conduct analysis of data and reports. Support in the tracking and communication of performance metrics.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience 1-3+ years in UAT roles, preferably within large-scale or high-visibility projects. Demonstrated strategic thinking with a strong ability to plan and execute complex test scenarios. Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project needs. You have familiarity with waterfall & Agile methodologies and ALM. Experience in the financial services or banking sector is an asset.

  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong organizational and meeting management skills, including experience leading defect calls and cross-functional discussions.

  • You are a problem solver. You have exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend solutions.

  • You act like an owner. You understand business and process requirements in order to define fairly complex processes or a sub set of processes affecting a line of business
