Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing, with experience in various related trades such as masonry, carpentry, and heavy equipment operation. This role involves working on commercial and residential projects, ensuring high-quality concrete surfaces and finishes that meet project specifications and safety standards. Candidates should possess excellent technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Duties

  • Finish concrete surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to achieve smooth, level, and durable finishes.
  • Install rebar and perform concrete forming according to blueprints and schematics to prepare for pouring.
  • Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and other heavy equipment safely and effectively on-site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate placement of concrete structures.
  • Assist with installation of masonry elements such as stucco, tile laying, and flooring as needed.
  • Perform demolition, renovation, or restoration work related to concrete structures or surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate with other trades including carpentry, roofing, metal stud framing, and plastering to ensure project continuity.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling tools, materials, and debris throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in concrete finishing or related construction trades such as masonry or carpentry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems related to concrete mixers, pumps, power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with rebar installation, concrete forming techniques, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation, and concrete pumping is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites including heavy lifting procedures.
  • Experience with renovation projects or restoration work is a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
