Youth and Young Adult Pastor/Director

Purpose: The Youth & Young Adult Pastor/Director is responsible for reaching, discipling, and equipping youth and young adults from grade 7 to age 25 to become growing followers of Jesus.

Responsibilities: The following tasks are assigned to the Youth & Young Adult Director:

Grace Baptist Church in Airdrie, Alberta is seeking an individual for a part-time position as a Youth & Young Adult Pastor/Director. This role is expected to start at 24–30 hours per week, with the hope of expanding to full-time hours in the future as the Youth & Young Adult ministry continues to grow.

Key duties will be in finding opportunities in the community to reach youth, overseeing the youth midweek program for discipling, and developing ministry and mission opportunities for youth to be involved in. Grace Airdrie has a wide demographic of people from young families to senior adults, a congregation of about 250 people, and two Sunday morning services.

The salary range is between $40,000 and $65,000, including a Health Spending Account.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in teaching, public speaking, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with young people.
  • Experience in leadership roles within a church or youth organization is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice care is a plus, demonstrating compassion and sensitivity towards individuals facing difficult life circumstances.
  • Excellent writing skills for preparing lesson plans, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire trust and build relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to organize activities efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to the mission of fostering spiritual growth within the youth community. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives through faith-based leadership and mentorship in a supportive church environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $39,536.42-$63,334.52 per year
