  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;

  • Registered Nurse designation in Nunavut or ability to obtain it quickly;

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse;

  • ACLS, ITLS or TNCC Certificate, or equivalent;

  • Experience working in a remote camp setting or acute care settings such as an Emergency Room or Intensive Care Unit;

  • Experience working in an artic environment is considered an asset;

  • First Aid Instructor certification or willingness to obtain it is considered an asset;

  • Able to meet the physical demands required to provide care to patients in the clinic or at their work location when required;

  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at our Hope Bay Project is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule\: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;

  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Maintain a high standard of safety, clinical, and professional conduct at all times

  • Provide care to workers who are injured or become ill at work;

  • Assess the severity of a medical emergency and decide what treatment is appropriate;

  • Perform pre-employment medical examinations for new hires, following the standardized process implemented across Canadian sites;

  • Follow medical protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.

  • Perform medical examinations and administer vaccinations;

  • Lead the Medical Surveillance program including; PFT, Audiograms, etc

  • Collaborate with the Nunavut Health and Wellness Specialist, including WSCC Claims and Mental Health programs.

  • Lead and coordinate health promotions initiatives tailored to mining environment, including seasonal campaigns, wellness challenges, and educational sessions.

  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to build trust, identify emerging health concerns, and provide real-time support to workers.

  • Support reporting activities related to the medical field, including medical records, medical surveillance and incident documentation;

  • Ensure all medical equipment is inspected, certified and ready for an emergency;

  • Participate in the site Emergency Response Team to build trust and cohesion with team members.

  • Other duties as directed from time to time.
