As a Security - Summer Student with Trans Mountain (TM), you'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced group of Security experts. The successful candidate will assist with the development and maintenance of the Security Program and ISLMS documentation ensuring compliance with the Onshore Pipeline Regulations (OPR).

This position is based in our Calgary office and reports to the Manager, Security.

Duration: May 4, 2026, to August 21, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Security department training and exercise program by assisting with logistics coordination and onsite representation during exercise events.
  • Assist with Security Inspections in the field to ensure conformance with TM's Corporate Security Standard and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support Security department data analysis by assisting with statistical reporting to support security risk assessments and asset deployment.
  • Update security field inspections and ensuring site conformance with the TM Corporate Security Standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations that summarize findings and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collect and organize security-related data.
  • Responsible for report writing and data entry.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Corporate Security team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking action items.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Enrolled in a criminology, security management or business studies or closely related program, with at least one year of study completed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.

Other Requirements and Information

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution and return to full time studies in the fall.
  • This role is full time in office, and requires on-site attendance for the duration of the summer term.

The expected pay range for this position is $24.61 to $33.48 CAD.
