Willsëns Architectural Millwork Ltd. is now hiring

Shift: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Friday)

Location: Aurora, ON (In office position- NOT REMOTE)

Position Title: Architectural Millwork Draftsperson

Responsibilities Include (Not limited too):

  • Interpreting Architectural Plans (Blueprints, sketches, and other documentation in order to create a shop drawing for custom millwork, cabinetry and architectural woodwork).
  • Creating Detailed Shop Drawings (Developing detailed CAD drawings, including dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions).
  • Using CAD software (Utilizing software such as AutoCAD and Microvellum to create and revise drawings).
  • Ensuring Accuracy and compliance (Adhering to customer needs, industry standards and applicable codes and regulations).
  • Revising and Updating of shop drawings (Ensuring we have the latest set up drawings updated at all times).
  • Collaborating with Teams (Working closely with internal team members such as Project Managers to ensure smooth production and project completion).
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving (Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the drafting process).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Drafting
  • Must have experience with CAD software (IE. AutoCAD and/or Microvellum)
  • Strong understanding of woodworking- Millwork background (Asset)
  • Diploma or degree in drafting, architectural design and or related field is highly recommended
  • Strong English communication (verbal and written)
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong mathematics and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attendance
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work approximately 40 hours (over-time may be required during busy periods)
  • Can work well under pressure to hit deadlines as well as being able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Displays a high level of leadership and teamwork
  • Creative skills
