Grid Communications is seeking a Videographer / Editor to support ongoing brand, corporate, and content production. This is a contract-based engagement designed for a creative professional who is comfortable owning projects end-to-end — from capture through final delivery.

You'll work closely with a Creative Director and small support team to produce clean, story-driven video content across multiple clients and formats. This role is well suited to someone who values consistency, creative ownership, and long-term collaboration over one-off gigs.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality video footage using professional equipment in office, event, and controlled environments
  • Light and frame interviews for clean, flattering results
  • Capture clear dialogue using lavalier and/or basic audio setups
  • Edit raw footage into polished, story-driven videos aligned with creative direction
  • Apply colour correction, audio polish, and basic motion graphics
  • Create cutdowns and format variations for different platforms
  • Manage footage ingest, backups, file organization, and exports
  • Collaborate with Creative Director on concepts, pacing, and tone
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines with reliability and attention to detail
  • Maintain consistency across repeatable series and ongoing content

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Videographer / Editor (agency, brand, or freelance)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both shooting and editing capability
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (Final Cut Pro experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge of After Effects for basic motion graphics and lower thirds
  • Solid understanding of lighting, composition, and audio capture
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts
  • Comfortable working independently or with a small on-set assistant
  • Organized, dependable, and deadline-driven
  • Clear communicator who takes ownership of their work

Nice to Have

  • Experience with corporate or brand storytelling
  • Social-first editing experience (vertical cutdowns, pacing)
  • Familiarity with templated or series-based workflows
  • Ability to adapt visual style across different brands

Tools & Equipment

Candidates may use their own professional camera, lighting, and audio kit, or work with Grid-provided equipment depending on project requirements. Experience with professional-level gear is required regardless.

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor role (non-payroll)
  • Monthly retainer or reserved-capacity structure
  • Ongoing work potential across multiple projects
  • Rate based on experience, availability, and equipment
