Summary

Apprentice 'Millwright' position available at our facility in Canada. As a key member of our maintenance team, the Millwright Apprentice will assist the Millwright in the responsibility for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing Precise Drilling Components' (PDC) equipment including CNC Machinery to mitigate the risk of equipment failure. You will ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment vital to our manufacturing processes. Your work will support PDC's mission to deliver high-quality down-hole tools efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Operate rigging equipment to place heavy machinery and parts.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools, welding equipment to ensure proper bearing fits, gear alignments and shafts to precise tolerances.
  • Participate in the PDC preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in alignment with safety and machinery standards. Assist with maintenance work planning, scheduling and execute improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Millwright with test equipment making any necessary adjustments. Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures.
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
  • Conduct basic machine shop and welding duties.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Apprentice Millwright Certification with 2 years of trade school and trade experience completed.
  • Some experience with routine maintenance operations of CNC equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a team-oriented diverse working environment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to safety and risk management.
  • Rudimentary knowledge in equipment failure investigation and root cause determination.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and testing equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour
