MAF1005H - Current Issues in Accounting and Assurance - Summer 2026

This explores the current and future issues in accounting and assurance by examining current and emerging issues as well as leading research in accounting and assurance. Topics covered each semester will vary based on current and emerging issues. Areas of current interest include integrated and sustainability reporting, the use of non-GAAP measures, changes to auditor reporting, the impact of technology on audit, audit quality indicators, changes in audit firm organization, the importance of transparency, the rise of regulation and more. MAccFin Sessional Instructional Assistant – Summer 2026

The following positions for Sessional Instructional Assistants are available in the Department of Management Scarborough for Summer academic session.

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement." It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment.

Summer 2026 Session Dates: May 4, August 31, 2025 or May 4, July 31, 2025

Note: All positions involve completion of all course grading.



Minimum Qualifications

A CPA designation or successful completion of CFE with experience developing marking rubrics and marking cases. Preference is given to candidates who recently obtained their CPA designation or recently passed the CFE and understands the new CPA process.



Preferred Qualifications

A CPA designation and prior experience marking cases and rubrics.



Relevant Criterion

Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.



 Duties

Prepare marking rubrics, marking and providing detailed comments (both oral and written) to students on case assignments, midterm and final exams, and recording the grades. Provide detailed feedback of student's performance and learning strategies to instructor.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
