We're looking for a skilled and motivated Baker to join our Bakery Department at Country Grocer in Chase River. As a Baker, you'll be responsible for the preparation, baking, and production of high-quality baked goods—primarily breads, rolls, and other yeast-leavened products.

Schedule Requirements:

  • Night shift starting as 6:00pm or 9:00pm
  • Part Time

About the job:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of fresh breads, rolls, and other yeast-based products according to company standards and recipes
  • Scale, mix, proof, and bake doughs with precision and consistency
  • Operate commercial baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough dividers safely and effectively
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure quality and doneness
  • Maintain accurate production records and adjust batch sizes as needed based on demand
  • Comply with all food safety, workplace safety, and hygiene regulations
  • You will receive an extra $2/h premium for the night shift

Pay for this job:

Starting Range: $23.50-$25.75

Most new team members start within this range, depending on their experience and skills.

Growth Range: Up to $29.75

There's room to grow Annual performance reviews provide opportunities to move up within this range over time.

About You:

  • You're knowledgeable about breads and all yeast-related products
  • You have a strong understanding of baking techniques, and dough handling
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and manage physical tasks (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods)
  • Able to follow production schedules and recipes with precision
  • Current Food Safe certification is an asset; however, Country Grocer will help you achieve.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and moving in a kitchen environment for extended periods
  • Ability to work in hot and humid conditions near ovens and proofers
