Position Title: Labourer

About the Role:

The Labourer supports construction and renovation projects by performing a wide range of physical, on-site tasks. This role ensures job sites are safe, clean, organized, and properly set up to enable tradespeople and supervisors to work efficiently. The Labourer works closely with forepersons, installers, carpenters, and other crew members to support daily operations across residential, commercial, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment.
• Support trades (carpenters, glaziers, installers, millworkers, etc.) with daily tasks.
• Set up and tear down work areas, including scaffolding, ladders, and temporary barriers.
• Perform general site cleanup and waste removal.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and responsibly.
• Follow all WorkSafeBC safety procedures and participate in toolbox meetings.
• Help maintain an organized, hazard-free work environment.
• Complete tasks assigned by the Foreman or Project Manager in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Previous construction, renovation, or labour experience (an asset).
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces (training provided as needed).
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence (preferred).
• Completion of or willingness to obtain mandatory safety training (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection).

Skills:

• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Safety-conscious and attentive to detail.
• Problem-solving and adaptability on dynamic job sites.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Assets (Good to Have):

• Experience with roofing (shingles, metal, membrane systems).
• Experience with siding (vinyl, hardie, metal panels).
• Experience with glazing (glass handling, frames, installation support).
• Experience with cabinet making / millwork (woodworking, installation assistance).

Location:

Based in Kamloops, BC, with travel to local and regional job sites as required.
