functional responsibilities: Cook will be responsible for the planning and preparation of all meals provided for the clients and staff.
A) ADMINISTRATION:
Prepare weekly menus according to the dietary and/or special needs of the clients.
Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals as planned.
Order and/or shop for groceries as required within monthly budget limits.
Clean, disinfect and sanitize kitchen in conjunction with national health standards.
Ensure proper usage of kitchen equipment.
Wash and disinfect cooking utensils and dishes as needed.
Maintain filing system in a confidential manner.
Comply with all program and file administrative procedures.
Complete and submit required incident reports to Team Lead.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
Attend staff training sessions as directed.
B) MISCELLANEOUS:
Answer phones and greet visitors in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner.
Explain to clients proper safety procedures in performing their chores.
Keep Centre in a clean and tidy condition.
Participate in fund-raising activities as required or directed.
Undertake any other related duties as assigned by management.
C) Qualifications:
Certificate for Journeyman Cook.
Food and Sanitation Certificate.
Ability to work on own with little or no supervision.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Valid Drivers License.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
