Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Markham, ON, for a Drafter.

The Drafter will be responsible for:

  • Resolve discrepancies by analyzing and presenting numerical and descriptive data.
  • preparing detailed drawings of window wall systems and glass, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Quantity Takeoff, quantifying materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for the project based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Support the tender and construction processes through submittal reviews, shop drawings, and RFIs.
  • Cost Estimation, using cost databases, historical data, and industry knowledge to calculate the cost of materials, labor, subcontractors, overhead, and other expenses.
  • Proactively preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings from architectural and structural drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Working closely with the PM in coordinating drawings in compliance with specifications and scope of work.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD software and technical drawing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in the construction and window wall systems sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with project documentation and record maintenance.
  • Relevant educational background in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm or architectural building envelope firm.
