Job Summary

Val's Drilling LTD is hiring a Senior Geotechnical Driller with strong, recent Diedrich D-120 experience. This is a permanent full-time role for a proven field leader who can run safe, efficient drilling programs and represent our company professionally on site.

This posting is for qualified senior drillers only. We are not hiring to train.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operate and lead geotechnical drilling programs on a Diedrich D-120 (primary rig).
  • Execute drilling to spec, including:
  • Auger drilling (mandatory)
  • HQ3 rock coring (mandatory)
  • ODEX drilling (asset)
  • Supervise and mentor Driller Assistants; lead safe, productive crews.
  • Handle daily site planning, logistics, and field decision-making.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and support field repairs/diagnostics.
  • Complete required safety documentation (FLHAs, hazard IDs, inspections, near-miss/incident reports).
  • Execute Val's Drilling Safety Program on every site.
  • Professional client communication and customer service.
  • Class 1 driving, ELD/HOS compliance, and daily drilling/operational logs.

Mandatory Requirements (No Exceptions)

  • Class 1 driver's license w/ air brakes
  • Heavy haul experience
  • Strong, recent Diedrich D-120 drilling experience
  • Geotechnical Auger Drilling experience
  • HQ3 Rock Coring experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (field troubleshooting/diagnostics)
  • Able to lead crews and run day-to-day drilling operations safely and efficiently.

  • WHMIS 2015
  • TDG
  • CSTS / CSO
  • Ground Disturbance Level II
  • Leadership Course
  • Defensive Driving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 84 per week
