Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated French teacher to instruct Grade 12 students in the FSF4U course at our private high school located in Oakville, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in French second language instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management, with a passion for fostering student engagement and academic excellence. This in-person teaching position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational environment that emphasizes literacy, critical thinking, and cultural understanding.

REQUIREMENTS:

To teach French Grade 12 FSF4U:

  • Strong knowledge of advanced French grammar, text analysis, essay writing, and communication strategies.
  • Ability to lead immersive, communication-focused language lessons using authentic francophone media.
  • Skill in designing assessments aligned with the Ontario Curriculum and Growing Success.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including ELL and IEP-supported students.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for language learning (digital tools, audio/video activities).
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods to ensure consistency and quality across grade levels.
  • Ability to maintain a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management techniques and organizational skills.
  • Desire to engage in ongoing professional development related to secondary education teaching methods, literacy & language education, and learning technology tools.
  • Commitment to support the school's educational administration efforts by participating in meetings, school events, and parent-teacher conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To teach French Grade 12 FSF4U:

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification – Intermediate/Senior division (Preferred).
  • French as a Second Language (FSL) teaching qualification.
  • Strong fluency in spoken and written French (advanced level).
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (VSS).
  • Ability to commute to the campus on Bristol Circle, in Oakville to teach classes in-person during school hours on weekdays.
