What are your contributions to the team?
  • Support and/or lead the negotiation of multi-million dollar cross border agreements related to the sale of private jets for special missions around the world.
  • Draft complex and specialized terms and conditions that balance Bombardier's risk and the needs of our unique customers.
  • Draft and negotiate an array of agreements such as, aircraft purchase agreements, data license agreements, engineering services agreements, and aircraft modification agreements.
  • Support aircraft delivery objectives by providing ongoing commercial and/or legal support to internal and external customers.
  • Drive business results by anticipating risks and, in concert with internal stakeholders, initiate creative and effective mitigation plans to protect aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Engage with management to raise unresolved contractual risks in a timely way.
  • Initiate correspondence to customers, including invoices, in accordance with the purchase agreement and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Contribute to process improvement and governance activities related to the functions of the department.
  • Be presented with opportunities to travel internationally.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You have proven experience or knowledge of the aviation and/or defense industry is required, as is knowledge of U.S. government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
  • You are able to combine your business acumen with your risk mitigation abilities.
  • You have a university degree in law or business. Having an MBA would be considered an asset, though not a requirement.
  • You have at least ten to fifteen years' experience working in a law firm or a large corporation.
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the negotiation of commercial transactions and drafting of commercial agreements.
  • You are a leader and autonomous.
  • You possess strong interpersonal and persuasion skills.
  • You have strong drafting skills in English.
  • You have the ability to work flexibly, extended and/or irregular working hours in line with business demands, together with an ability to travel on short notice.
  • You are bilingual in French and English. Knowledge of a third language is an asset.
