Clinical Leader

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Leader will work collaboratively with the health care team to support day-to-day clinic operations, patient flow (unit/site/hospital) and staffing, promote quality improvement activities by facilitating a safe and therapeutic environment for the provision of care; participate in financial responsibility but utilizing staff, clinic resources, equipment and supplies in the most efficient manner; assist the Clinical Manager with measurement and evaluation; identify and follow up on opportunities for continuous improvement; support and lead change across clinic areas; facilitate exemplary communication both internal to program and within other program and agencies and promote team spirit, cohesiveness, motivation and commitment to program goals.

The Pediatric Ambulatory Clinics at McMaster Children's Hospital include numerous subspecialty services. These clinics provide acute tertiary and subspecialty medical and surgical care to children ages 0-18 years. These clinics are dynamic and fast-paced where specialized care is delivered to children in a family-centered environment.
1. Baccalaureate degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and/or Healthcare Management
2. Minimum of 3 years recent relevant experience or practice in healthcare leadership
3. Knowledge and skill in pediatric healthcare within an ambulatory clinic setting
4. Demonstrated leadership and co-ordination skills in a fast paced environment
5. Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the delivery of patient care services
6. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building, and ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner
7. Skill in supporting and mentoring staff to enhance knowledge skill and judgment within their practice
8. Demonstrates the ability to manage and resolve conflict
9. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills
10. Demonstrated ability and knowledge to access and utilize hospital resources
11. Demonstrated evidence of continuous education and lifelong learning
12. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of HHS and MCH
13. Registration as a Regulated Health Professional preferred
Monday to Friday; days. Evenings and weekends as required.
