Metro Testing + Engineering is an established company with over 35 years of experience helping construction companies with their materials testing and engineering needs. We are based in Burnaby BC with 11 offices in Western Canada and over 250 employees.
Our Environmental Engineering Division provides the following services:
· Contaminated Sites Investigation and Remediation · Riparian Area Management Assessment · Underground and Above Ground Storage Tank Management · Waste Management and Sustainability · First Nations' Services · Environmental Compliance Audits · Environmental Management Systems · Licensing, Permits, and Government Approvals
What our Environmental Engineering Technicians do:
· Field investigations, remediation, and reclamation activities · Coordinate and execute contaminated sites projects, including Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments; hydrogeological investigations; hazardous building material assessments; and sampling programs for soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil vapour · Conduct environmental monitoring on construction projects · Design and implement erosion and sediment control measures · Support the completion of environmental impact assessments, riparian area assessments, fish and amphibian salvage, and bird nest surveys · Compile, analyze, and interpret environmental data · Contribute to business development activities, including preparation of project proposals, presentations, and client communications · Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety procedures and guidelines · Prepare technical memos, letters, and reports
What our Environmental Engineering Technicians get:

Qualifications that we look for:
· Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship · Post Secondary education (degree or diploma) in environmental engineering/sciences, geoscience, agrology, or biology · Interest in environmental consulting · Eligible to register as an EIT/GIT, BIT, A.Ag, AScTT, or EPt. · A valid BC Class 5 Drivers' License + Personal vehicle for travel to the work sites · Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal communication skills. · Proficient with Microsoft Office.
