Role Overview

As a Planner
, you will:

  • Support a variety of planning projects by applying academic knowledge and gaining hands-on experience.
  • Assist in preparing reports, proposals, and graphics, while learning best practices from senior team members.
  • Participate in client meetings, public engagement, and project coordination as an observer and contributor, building confidence and professional skills.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support planning recommendations, leveraging guidance from experienced planners.
  • Engage in mentorship opportunities by actively learning from senior leaders and contributing to collaborative team efforts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative, practical solutions while expanding technical and professional expertise.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant planning experience preferred
  • Degree in Urban Planning or related discipline.
  • Full or Provisional Membership in OPPI/CIP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario's land use planning system and municipal processes.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; GIS and graphic production skills are assets.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (travel may be required).
