ROLE SUMMARY AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the General Manager, a Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and mechanical service of Cold Drink Equipment throughout our territory of central Alberta.

The Field Service Technician performs scheduled service calls along with efficiently distributing reactive calls amongst team members, as well as, professionally and proactively coordinating with both end customer and Coca-Cola counterparts.

What you'll be doing

  • Installations: Get customers up and running with Coca-Cola products by installing fountain equipment and cold beverage systems for renovations and new customers.
  • Maintenance: Keep customers up and running by performing regular maintenance on installed cold beverage equipment.
  • Repairs: Limit downtime by responding to customers when cold beverage equipment required break-fix.
  • Equipment Moves: Move cold beverage and vending equipment in and out of customer accounts.
  • Inventory and Parts: Leverage our technologies to track of which parts are where and when we have the parts to complete repairs.
  • Technology and Data Management: Use tech tools (tablet, apps, spreadsheets) to manage service data
  • Represent RDB in Trade: Represent RDB with professionalism, customer service, courtesy, and a can-do attitude
  • Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 75lbs in a safe manner as directed by Management and WCB requirements. This role often involves heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, so physical fitness and stamina are essential.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Supporting schedule coordination across the team to ensure fair and efficient distribution of service calls.  Work closely with customers and our Coca-Cola partners.
  • Teamwork: Support your teammates, troubleshoot together and help balance daily workload
  • Safety First: Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company policies and local regulations while performing duties.  Safe and defensive driving is critical.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve productivity of the workforce through current technology enablement, training, process improvement and identifying best practices.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

Qualifications - What we are looking for

  • 2+ Years of related experience (preferred)
  • Experience with cold beverage equipment or appliance repair
  • Familiarity with construction, electrical, plumbing, mechanical/electro-mechanical or HVAC
  • You're curious with a passion for troubleshooting, fixing things and helping solve problems for customers
  • You enjoy working independently but know how to be part of a team
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and mobile devices
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and stay organized

Requirements - Must haves

  • Valid driver's license (abstract required)
  • Your own reliable transportation to work
  • Ability to consistently bend, kneel and safely life up to 75lbs and be on your feet often
  • Basic hand tools and steel toe boots

Regular Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • On-call rotation (after training)
