Our team works collaboratively with families, community partners, and clinical professionals to promote safety, skill-building, and meaningful engagement.

Position Summary

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and skilled Respite Support Workers to provide in-home, out-of-home, and on-call respite services. This role involves supporting children and youth with complex behavioural, developmental, and daily living needs while implementing individualized plans and maintaining a safe, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to children and youth in their home or in EYC's respite setting.
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and follow recommendations from a BCBA.
  • Complete behaviour tracking, documentation, and communication notes.
  • Support clients with daily care needs (toileting, eating, hygiene, routines, etc.).
  • Provide in-home family support, including observation and feedback about client behaviour and routines.
  • Facilitate safe and meaningful community outings and skill-building activities.
  • Participate in on-call shifts, responding to urgent needs when required.
  • Communicate effectively with families, supervisors, and clinical staff.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed, client-centred, and respectful approach at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or youth with behavioural or developmental needs.
  • Ability to follow clinical recommendations, including BSPs and BCBA guidelines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Comfortable assisting with daily care and personal support tasks.
  • Accurate behaviour tracking, documentation, and report writing.
  • A reliable car and valid driver's license (required).
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • CPI/NVCI or similar crisis training is an asset.
  • Availability for on-call rotations as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
