What You'll Do
  • Define and implement the strategy for a new geotechnical service line.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Position the practice as a technical leader through innovation and quality.
  • Actively pursue business development opportunities and expand client portfolios.
  • Oversee project execution, resource planning, and operational performance.
  • Deepen relationships with existing clients to broaden geotechnical offerings.
  • Apply advanced geotechnical engineering expertise in design, construction, and monitoring.
  • Manage investigations, subsurface programs, hazard assessments, slope stability, and settlement analysis.
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet industry standards and regulatory codes.
  • Lead integration of acquired businesses when required.
  • Mentor staff and promote a culture of learning, inclusion, and technical excellence.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (geotechnical focus).
  • 15+ years of geotechnical engineering and design experience.
  • Professional Engineering license in BC, Alberta, or Ontario.
  • Proven leadership in dynamic, growth-oriented organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of developing teams and practices.
  • Deep knowledge of geotechnical principles, design/build, permitting, and project management.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and design software (Slide, LPILE, Settle3, Geostudios, PLAXIS).
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with practical solutions.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring safe, efficient project delivery.
  • Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and travel as needed.
  • Bonus: Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, multi-province experience, international collaboration, and M&A integration.
