Unionville Home Society and its affiliate corporations operate a long-term care home, seniors' housing, a seniors' active living center, an adult day program, and geriatric outreach services. Position

Brief Summary: The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide plays a pivotal role in the delivery of resident-centered care within our long-term care home. The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide is responsible for the delivery of daily resident care and resident safety and is as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Essential Job Functions:

•Ensure that all resident's rooms and assigned areas receive a thorough cleaning as required per housekeeping procedures and schedule.

•Ensure that all scheduled project work is completed on a timely basis

•Ensure that all resident's clothes are labeled correctly.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• High School Graduate or GED

Experience:

•Six months to one-year experience in a Long-Term Care setting is considered an asset

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•Organizational skills to manage timetables and responsibilities

•Ability to exercise good judgment, tact and diplomacy

•Empathetic attitude and desire to contribute towards the well-being of seniors

•Written and verbal communication skills related to the position

•Good interpersonal skills

•Ability to work independently and with others including team members, residents, families, volunteers and other employees
