Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and personable Hairstylist / Trichologist to join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hairstyling and scalp care delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves creating stylish haircuts, color treatments, and styling services while ensuring a welcoming environment for clients. The Hair Stylist will also assist with retail sales and maintain high standards of sanitation and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction, the Hairstylist / Trichologist will:
  • Provide professional hairstyling including cutting, styling, coloring, and treatments
  • Install, set, retighten, and maintain microlocs and dreadlocs
  • Conduct detailed hair and scalp assessments using trichology techniques
  • Recommend and administer hair loss and scalp health treatments
  • Deliver customized protective styling and professional hair extension services with minimal traction
  • Create tailored color treatments enhancing client confidence
  • Provide protective hairstyles for children with creative finishing touches
  • Educate clients about at-home care and scalp health maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace
  • Deliver excellent customer service and develop long-term client relationships
  • Provide a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments tailored to client preferences
  • Stay current with the latest hair trends, techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing education
  • Build strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and foster a loyal clientele

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional hairstyling experience (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Hair Stylist and trichology or in a similar role within a salon setting.

Languages

  • English (required)

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of scalp health, hair treatments, and protective styling
  • Ability to work with a variety of hair textures and client profiles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and professional demeanor
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and proper sterilization procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear consultations.
