In addition, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience to become a Class 1 Delivery Service Representative. This person is expected to obtain it's Class 1 Learner license within 3 months of hire and go through MELT program (at the cost of GFS) to become a Class 1 Local Delivery Driver in GFS.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position will provide opportunities to learn the correct offloading of product from the vehicle, recording of delivery information, accepting payment (no cash) for goods when required, and ensuring overall vehicle safety. Upon completion of the training program, the Class 5 Delivery Driver will be expected to operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures.Required Skills and Qualifications:Ability to lift, load, push, pull and carry items up to 60 lbsValid Class 5 licenseAbility to work independently as well as assist team members when necessaryExcellent communication and time management skillsSafe operation of all equipmentStrong work ethic and positive attitudeProfessional demeanor and customer service focusAbility to excel in a fast paced, physically demanding positionBe a team player and model the GFS Cornerstone ValuesConsistent on-time attendanceAvailability for weekends and statutory holidays.GFSCAWe thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
