Overview
Okanagan Montessori is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educator to join our team, in our brand new child care facility. We spent the last few years designing and building our dream centre, with ample indoor and outdoor space It is truly beautifully designed eith lots of natural lighting. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities, and possess a strong background in early childhood education. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' development through engaging and supportive teaching practices.
we have 2 large rooms for our infant / toddler programs. We are searching for an educator to primarily work in the infant room.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities tailored to the needs of children, including those with disabilities
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support each child's individual development plan
- Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to parents and team members
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that adheres to safety standards and best practices in early childhood education
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices
Skills
- Proven classroom experience working with young children
- Montessori Experience/ knowledge
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage children effectively
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and development milestones
- Excellent caregiving abilities combined with patience, empathy, and adaptability
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and support staff
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and confidence in children
Requirements
- Two reference letters
- Criminal Record check
- First aid & CPR
- Infant&Toddler License to practice certificate
- Montessori experience / knowledge

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
